Navigator
About the Role
At Joshin, Navigators are advocates, guides, and connectors. We meet individuals and families where they are, offering support and empowerment as they navigate life experiences related to neurodivergence or disability. As a Navigator, you will provide compassionate, personalized guidance to members who are seeking workplace accommodations, clinical resources, and everyday support in the Joshin ecosystem, the community, and the workplace. You’ll collaborate closely with employers, healthcare providers, and coaches to ensure each person receives the tools, resources, and recognition they deserve. This role is ideal for someone who believes in the power of advocacy, empathy, and equity, and wants to help build a more inclusive future of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted guide and advocate for members, helping them navigate accommodations, benefits, and community resources and disability programs.
- Build meaningful, ongoing relationships rooted in empathy, respect, and dignity.
- Collaborate across teams including coaching, clinical, and employer partners, to ensure cohesive and affirming support.
- Identify barriers and gaps in access and work creatively to find solutions that center each member’s unique strengths and goals.
- Contribute insights from member experiences to help improve Joshin’s systems, services, and accessibility practices.
- Maintain the highest standards of privacy, sensitivity, and ethical care when working with personal, diagnosis, and health-related information.
Qualifications
- Experience in advocacy, care coordination, member navigation, or human services (ideally within healthcare, disability, mental health, or workplace inclusion)
- Strong understanding of neurodivergence and disability, including community-based and governmental resources.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (active listener, clear communicator, and empathetic partner)
- Skilled in problem-solving and navigating complex systems or processes.
- Tech-savvy and adaptable (comfortable with macOS, Microsoft Office/Teams, G-Suite, and Slack) and quick to learn new tools.
- Dedicated workspace with minimal distractions and reliable internet connection.
- Bonus: Personal or lived experience with disability, neurodivergence, or caregiving.
